Continental Reinsurance Plc has made a generous donation of N62 million to the College of Insurance & Financial Management (CIFM) to establish a state-of-the-art Information Communication Technology (ICT) facility. This significant contribution was formally acknowledged during a cheque presentation at the Continental Re office, where the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) expressed its deep appreciation for the gesture.

Jide Orimolade, the Chairman of the Governing Council of CIIN, commended Continental Re for its forward-thinking approach and commitment to advancing capacity development within Nigeria’s insurance industry. He emphasized the critical need to strengthen the skills of professionals in the sector, particularly as the insurance landscape continues to evolve. Orimolade noted that the establishment of the ICT facility at CIFM would enhance the institute’s ability to train and equip professionals with the technical skills necessary to meet the growing demands of the industry.

This donation is part of Continental Re’s broader strategy to promote excellence and sustainability across Africa’s insurance sector. Lawrence Nazare, the Group Managing Director of Continental Re, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to investing in the future of insurance in Africa. CIIN President Yetunde Ilori also acknowledged the significance of the donation, assuring stakeholders that the funds would be utilized effectively to further strengthen the development of skilled professionals within Nigeria’s insurance industry.
