The protesting staff, under the auspices of the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Service Employees (AUPCTRE), National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) branch, yesterday suspended the indefinite strike they embarked upon after sealing a deal with the federal government and the management of the commission.

Chairman of the AUPCTRE, Comrade Ibrahim Abdulateef, confirmed to Daily Trust that the union has reached an agreement with management at the instance of the Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun.

On Monday the staff barricaded the NAICOM premises at Garki 2, Abuja as early as 7a.m. and shut out majority of management staff from accessing their offices.

NAICOM is the regulator of the insurance industry and a shutdown of its operations by workers had affacted the insurance industry.
