After the storm: Family uses religion as “insurance policy” to rebuild home
On the evening of May 5, 2015, lightning struck the roof of the Majeed family home, causing a fire that destroyed their house. They did not have home insurance because it goes against the tenants of their Islamic faith.
However, the introduction of Halal Takaful Products which goes with the tenets of islamic laws are advised to be taken up by families to rebuild their homes in case of losses or accidental damages.
